Damien Diggs U.S. Attorney | U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Texas

A Jasper County man has been sentenced to 51 months in federal prison for a firearms violation, according to an announcement by U.S. Attorney Damien M. Diggs.

Bradley Joseph LeBlanc, aged 25, admitted guilt to possession of an unregistered firearm. U.S. District Judge Marcia A. Crone handed down the sentence on January 16, 2025.

Court documents reveal that law enforcement officers executed a search warrant at LeBlanc's home in Jasper on November 15, 2023. During the search, they found a fully automatic machine gun reported stolen from a Waller County law enforcement officer’s vehicle. Further investigation showed no firearms records for LeBlanc with the National Firearms Registration and Transfer Records (NFRTR).

The case was prosecuted under the Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN) Program, which is part of the Department of Justice's efforts to reduce violent crime. The program involves collaboration among federal, state, and local agencies to address violent crime issues in communities and implement comprehensive solutions.

The investigation involved the Jasper Police Department, FBI, and Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. Assistant U.S. Attorney Matt Quinn led the prosecution.
