A 46-year-old man, Lukumond Adebola Olatunji, has been sentenced to 20 years in federal prison for kidnapping. This decision was announced by U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Texas Leigha Simonton on Wednesday. Mr. Olatunji and his accomplice, Vincent Jerome Thompson, aged 42, were indicted in January 2022.

Mr. Thompson had pleaded guilty in June 2024 to charges of producing child pornography and aiding and abetting. Subsequently, Mr. Olatunji pleaded guilty to kidnapping a minor two months later.

The sentencing was carried out by U.S. District Judge Ed Kinkeade who imposed a sentence of 240 months in federal prison on Mr. Olatunji and ordered him to register as a sex offender. In October, Mr. Thompson received an identical sentence.

Plea documents revealed that on October 23, 2021, the men approached a 14-year-old girl offering her a ride home but instead drove her to an alleyway where Mr. Olatunji sexually assaulted her while Mr. Thompson filmed the incident with his phone.

During the recording, the victim can be heard saying phrases such as “I don’t want to do it no more,” and “can we go?” The men subsequently took her to a nearby motel where they continued their assault over several hours before she managed to escape carrying her backpack and shoes.

Upon investigation by police at the motel room, evidence including condom wrappers and drug paraphernalia were discovered.

In discussions with law enforcement officials, both men admitted engaging in sexual activities with the minor despite her objections which were acknowledged by Mr. Olatunji himself during interviews.

The case was investigated by Homeland Security Investigation’s Dallas Field Office along with the Dallas Police Department and prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorneys Michelle A. Winters along with former attorneys Jenna Rudoff and Joe Magliolo.
