Under the Vacancies Reform Act, Sue Fahami has been appointed as the Acting United States Attorney for the District of Nevada. She steps into this role as the chief federal law enforcement officer in a district that encompasses all 17 counties in Nevada. Fahami will oversee more than 100 prosecutors and staff professionals from offices based in Las Vegas and Reno.
Fahami's career with the United States Attorney’s Office in Nevada began in 2001. Before this, she was the elected District Attorney for White Pine County, Nevada. Her academic credentials include an LL.M. from the University of San Diego School of Law obtained in 1996, a J.D. from Whittier Law School earned in 1995, and a B.A. from the University of Southern California completed in 1991.
The office she now leads is tasked with representing the federal government in nearly all litigation involving the United States within Nevada.
