Philadelphia woman sentenced to 40 years for child exploitation offenses

Tyleeya Williams, a 22-year-old resident of Philadelphia, has been sentenced to 40 years in prison followed by lifetime supervised release. This sentence was handed down by United States District Court Judge Gerald J. Pappert for her involvement in the sexual abuse and exploitation of a child, as well as multiple child pornography offenses.

Williams faced charges in May 2023, including the manufacture and attempted manufacture of child pornography, two counts of distribution of child pornography, and possession of child pornography. She pleaded guilty to all charges in June of last year.

In her guilty plea, Williams admitted to sexually abusing a one-year-old girl under her care. She had coordinated this abuse with another child sex offender she met online. Williams documented the abuse through photographs and distributed these images on the internet. Additionally, she confessed to trafficking thousands of images and videos depicting the sexual abuse of other children.

"Tyleeya Williams was entrusted with the care and protection of this little girl, but instead sexually abused and exploited her," stated U.S. Attorney Jacqueline C. Romero. "The defendant further victimized this child by documenting the abuse and sharing the horrific images with other sex offenders."

This case is part of Project Safe Childhood, an initiative launched by the Department of Justice in May 2006 aimed at combating child sexual exploitation and abuse nationwide. The project utilizes federal, state, and local resources to prosecute individuals who exploit children online and rescue victims.

The investigation was conducted by the FBI, with prosecution led by Assistant United States Attorney Michelle Rotella.
