A Philadelphia man has been sentenced to three years in federal prison for a burglary committed on the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians Reservation. Sherente Tubby, 23, was found guilty of burglarizing a tribal member's home in the Tucker community in December 2021. The sentencing took place on January 14, 2025.
The case was announced by Acting U.S. Attorney Patrick Lemon and Special Agent in Charge Robert Eikhoff of the Federal Bureau of Investigation. The investigation was conducted by the Choctaw Police Department and the FBI.
Assistant U.S. Attorneys Kevin J. Payne and Brian K. Burns led the prosecution efforts against Tubby.
This case is part of Project Safe Neighborhood (PSN), an initiative aimed at reducing violent crime and gun violence across the United States. Launched in 2001, PSN involves collaboration among various levels of law enforcement and community leaders, coordinated by U.S. Attorneys’ Offices across all federal judicial districts.
