Philadelphia man sentenced for enticing minor into prostitution

A Philadelphia man has been sentenced to 120 months in prison for attempting to entice a minor into prostitution. The announcement was made by Acting U.S. Attorney Vikas Khanna.

Louis Goldenberg, aged 41, pleaded guilty before U.S. District Judge Christine P. O’Hearn to one count of attempted online enticement of a minor for prostitution.

Court documents reveal that in August 2023, Goldenberg engaged with an undercover agent on a messaging app. The agent posed as a woman with a 12-year-old niece. Over the course of August and September 2023, Goldenberg expressed his interest in sexual contact with the minor and mentioned meeting at a specific hotel in Mt. Laurel, New Jersey.

Goldenberg traveled from Pennsylvania to the hotel on September 18, 2023, where he had made a reservation. Upon arrival, he was arrested by law enforcement officials.

In addition to his prison sentence, Judge O’Hearn ordered Goldenberg to five years of supervised release and mandated him to register as a sex offender.

Acting U.S. Attorney Vikas Khanna credited Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) Newark's special agents and task force officers for their role in the investigation under Acting Special Agent in Charge Spiros Karabinas's leadership. Appreciation was also extended to the Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office and Mount Laurel Police Department.

The case is being prosecuted by Special Assistant U.S. Attorney Katelyn Waegener from the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Camden.

Goldenberg's defense counsel is Rocco C. Cipparone Jr., Esq.
