A Boston man has admitted to charges related to his involvement in a violent gang known as Cameron Street. Jonathan Darosa, also known as "Jeezy," pleaded guilty to several charges, including conspiracy to participate in a racketeering enterprise, possession of a firearm and ammunition as a felon, and drug trafficking offenses involving cocaine and oxycodone.
U.S. Senior District Court Judge William G. Young has scheduled Darosa's sentencing for May 1, 2025. During the investigation, which spanned two years, Darosa was identified as an active member of Cameron Street. He was involved in distributing drugs on multiple occasions and had made threatening remarks to law enforcement officers.
In April 2021, local authorities discovered Darosa carrying a Taurus 9mm semi-automatic pistol with ammunition during a search in Dorchester. His prior convictions include three instances of unlawful firearm possession, one resulting in a three-year prison sentence in 2016.
Cameron Street is described as a violent gang operating primarily in Dorchester, Boston. The group allegedly uses violence to maintain its influence and expand its territory.
The charges against Darosa carry potential sentences ranging from up to 10 years for firearm possession to up to 20 years for each count of drug distribution and racketeering conspiracy. These sentences are subject to federal guidelines and statutory requirements.
The announcement was made by United States Attorney Leah B. Foley along with officials from various law enforcement agencies who assisted in the case. The operation falls under the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETF) Strike Force Initiative aimed at dismantling major criminal organizations through coordinated multi-agency efforts.
Assistant U.S. Attorneys Christopher Pohl and Charles Dell’Anno are leading the prosecution.
Other defendants mentioned in the indictment remain innocent until proven guilty beyond reasonable doubt.
