Doyle receives eight-year sentence for cocaine distribution

Roger B. Handberg, U.S. Attorney | U.S. Attorney for the Middle District of Florida

James Matthew Doyle, a 38-year-old resident of Fleming Island, has been sentenced to eight years in federal prison by United States District Judge Harvey E. Schlesinger. The sentencing follows Doyle's guilty plea on May 31, 2024, for distributing cocaine.

Court records reveal that Doyle engaged in the sale of cocaine on two separate occasions in January and February 2023. These transactions involved a confidential source and an undercover agent from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF). Doyle's criminal history includes multiple felony convictions such as the sale of marijuana and ecstasy, possession of cocaine and methamphetamine, illegal possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, grand theft auto, and forging title information.

The case was thoroughly investigated by the ATF and prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Brenna Falzetta.
