The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's New England Office has recognized a Massachusetts wastewater district for its contributions to water quality improvement. The MFN Regional Wastewater District was awarded the 2024 Regional Wastewater Treatment Award, acknowledging its efforts in managing and operating wastewater treatment facilities.
The EPA's Regional Wastewater Awards Program has been honoring personnel in this field for 40 years, recognizing their invaluable public service throughout New England. This year, the MFN Regional Wastewater District was specifically commended for its work in inspecting, permitting, and sampling industrial users that discharge waste into the collection system.
Led by James Boliver, the MFN Regional Wastewater District was one of only two districts in New England to receive the 2024 Regional Industrial Pretreatment Program Excellence Award. This award highlights employees of publicly owned wastewater treatment plants who demonstrate outstanding oversight of industrial users discharging into municipal sewer systems.
