Jabree Jones, also known as "Breezy," a 32-year-old resident of Schenectady, New York, faces charges in an indictment for his alleged involvement in drug trafficking and firearm crimes. The indictment accuses him of conspiracy to distribute fentanyl, cocaine, and methamphetamine and possessing firearms, including a machine gun, to further his drug trafficking activities.
The announcement was made by United States Attorney Carla B. Freedman; Frank A. Tarentino III, Special Agent in Charge of the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), New York Field Division; and Bryan Miller, Special Agent in Charge of the New York Field Division of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF).
"The charges in the indictment are merely accusations. The defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty."
Jones is charged with participating in a drug conspiracy from January to May 2023. This included 11 instances of drug distribution during that period and possession with intent to distribute on May 23, 2023. On that date, searches were conducted at properties on Western Avenue in Albany and Halfmoon, New York. At these locations, Jones and his co-conspirators allegedly possessed 39 firearms—one being an illegal machine gun—and significant quantities of drugs.
Co-conspirators Anthony Luizzi and Brandon Bartley were found at the respective properties during the search operations. Another suspect involved in this investigation was Anthony Zaremski who was fatally shot after he opened fire on officers executing a federal search warrant at his Clifton Park apartment.
Several individuals have been charged alongside Jones:
- Anthony Luizzi pled guilty to related drug and gun crimes involving large amounts of drugs found at both properties. He received a sentence of 210 months imprisonment along with a $10,000 fine.
- Brandon Bartley also pled guilty to similar offenses and was sentenced to 180 months imprisonment with a $5,000 fine.
- Devon Newsome admitted to transferring firearms to Jones which were later discovered at one property; he received a sentence of 60 months imprisonment.
The case is under investigation by DEA alongside ATF—with support from Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO), United States Postal Inspection Service (USPIS), U.S Department Of Labor Office Of Inspector General (USDOL-OIG), Rotterdam Police Department as well as Henry County Police Department located within Georgia jurisdiction—and prosecuted by Assistant U.S Attorney Alexander Wentworth-Ping.
