Marion man sentenced to ten years for receiving child pornography

Timothy T. Duax U.S. Attorney | U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Iowa

Jeffrey Alan Bradley, a 51-year-old resident of Marion, Iowa, has been sentenced to ten years in federal prison for receiving child pornography. Bradley entered a guilty plea on August 8, 2024, to one count of receipt of child pornography.

The investigation revealed that Bradley had obtained over 7,000 images and more than 1,000 videos depicting child sexual abuse material. These materials included images of prepubescent minors and children involved in sexual acts with animals, as well as content involving sadistic and masochistic conduct and infants or toddlers. Bradley utilized advanced software to download these files and organized them into folders on his computer hard drive. During his arrest, he resisted by reaching for a loaded firearm stored in his pants and attempted to evade law enforcement officers.

United States District Court Chief Judge C.J. Williams sentenced Bradley in Cedar Rapids. He received a sentence of 120 months' imprisonment and was ordered to pay $39,000 in restitution to the victims involved in the case. Following his prison term, Bradley will serve a five-year supervised release period. It is important to note that there is no parole option within the federal system.

This case is part of Project Safe Childhood, an initiative launched by the Department of Justice in May 2006 aimed at combating child sexual exploitation and abuse. The project involves collaboration between federal, state, and local resources to apprehend individuals who exploit children sexually and rescue victims.
