A Lynn resident has admitted guilt in a federal court in Boston for his involvement in a significant drug trafficking organization operating on the North Shore of Massachusetts. The organization was dismantled following a substantial seizure of fentanyl and methamphetamine worth over $7 million in November 2023.
Deiby Felix, aged 41, confessed to charges including possession with intent to manufacture and distribute large quantities of fentanyl and methamphetamine, as well as possession of a firearm linked to drug trafficking. U.S. District Court Judge Patti B. Saris has set his sentencing for May 29, 2025. Felix was apprehended alongside Emilio Garcia and Sebastien Bejin in November 2023.
The investigation began in July 2023 after an overdose death in Salem led authorities to the drug trafficking operation headed by Felix, Bejin, and allegedly Garcia. Searches conducted on November 1, 2023, at four locations associated with Bejin and allegedly Garcia resulted in one of the largest seizures of fentanyl and methamphetamine recorded in Massachusetts. Among the seized items were nine kilograms of pink heart-shaped pills designed to resemble candy. Additional narcotics and five firearms were also confiscated.
In total, approximately eight million doses of fentanyl and methamphetamine-laced substances were seized during the investigation, with an estimated street value exceeding $8 million.
Felix's residence search uncovered over three kilograms of pressed pills containing methamphetamine and fentanyl along with a firearm. A hidden clandestine laboratory equipped with industrial pill presses and other manufacturing tools was also discovered.
Sebastien Bejin pleaded guilty on January 15, 2025, with sentencing scheduled for May 1, 2025. Emilio Garcia is expected to plead guilty on February 7, 2025.
The charges against Felix carry potential sentences ranging from ten years to life imprisonment for drug-related offenses and additional penalties for firearm possession linked to drug crimes.
U.S. Attorney Leah B. Foley announced these developments alongside Jodi Cohen from the FBI Boston office; Colonel Geoffrey D. Noble from the Massachusetts State Police; Essex County District Attorney Paul F. Tucker; with support from local police departments and the Massachusetts Attorney General’s Office.
