A Waterville man has been sentenced in U.S. District Court in Bangor for his involvement in the theft of firearms from a federally licensed dealer. Damiean Marcial-Alexander, 22, received a three-year prison sentence followed by three years of supervised release. He was also ordered to pay $17,253.37 in restitution after pleading guilty on May 30, 2024.
Court records indicate that Marcial-Alexander and Ryan Ansart broke into a firearms dealer in Waterville in April 2022, stealing multiple firearms including a Glock Model 17 Gen5 9mm pistol and a Smith & Wesson .38 special revolver. The store owner reported the theft of 15 firearms total—six revolvers and nine semi-automatic pistols—according to an ATF Theft/Loss Report.
Evidence presented included Instagram and text messages that detailed the planning of the theft, as well as photos showing Marcial-Alexander and Ansart holding some of the stolen weapons.
Ryan Ansart, also 22 and from West Springfield, Massachusetts, pleaded guilty on August 22, 2024. His sentencing is scheduled for February 11.
The investigation was conducted by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives with assistance from the Waterville Police Department.
