Roger B. Handberg, U.S. Attorney | U.S. Attorney for the Middle District of Florida
Orlando, Florida – The United States Attorney Roger B. Handberg has announced the unsealing of an indictment against three men from Orange County. Bradley D. Burch, Ronald E. Hubbard, Jr., and Douglas E. Arnett, Jr. have been charged with conspiracy to distribute and possession with intent to distribute controlled substances, including fentanyl and methamphetamine.
Burch is also facing charges for possession of a firearm in furtherance of the drug conspiracy. If convicted on all counts, Burch could face a minimum sentence of 15 years up to life in federal prison. Hubbard and Arnett face potential sentences ranging from 10 years to life imprisonment.
An indictment is a formal charge that indicates one or more violations of federal criminal law, but it does not imply guilt. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
The investigation was conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Metropolitan Bureau of Investigation, the Drug Enforcement Administration, and the Apopka Police Department. Assistant United States Attorney Megan Testerman will prosecute the case.
This case is part of Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN), a program aimed at reducing violent crime and gun violence by collaborating with various levels of law enforcement and communities. The Department launched a violent crime reduction strategy on May 26, 2021, which focuses on fostering trust within communities, supporting organizations that prevent violence, setting strategic enforcement priorities, and measuring results.
