Susan T. Lehr, U.S. Attorney | U.S. Attorney for the District of Nebraska

United States Attorney Susan T. Lehr announced the sentencing of two individuals involved in a methamphetamine distribution conspiracy in Omaha, Nebraska. Jody D. Webb, 45, from Lincoln, and Jason Unruh, 51, from Omaha, received their sentences on January 31, 2025. Chief United States District Judge Robert F. Rossiter Jr. sentenced Webb to 75 months in prison and Unruh to 188 months. Both will serve supervised release terms following their imprisonment; Webb for two years and Unruh for five years.

The investigation into the conspiracy began on August 3, 2023, when FBI surveillance observed Unruh meeting with codefendant Jonathan Ovalle-Solis. During this encounter, Unruh was seen exiting Ovalle's vehicle with a package containing a white substance believed to be methamphetamine.

Further evidence was gathered through a TextNow search warrant on Ovalle-Solis's phone number. The search confirmed that Unruh coordinated with a known Mexican meth supplier to purchase large quantities of the drug during August and September of 2023. Communications between Unruh and the supplier included details about where and how the transactions would occur.

On October 17, 2023, law enforcement continued their investigation into the drug trafficking organization by observing Webb meeting with a suspected courier. Following this meeting, officers conducted a traffic stop on Webb's vehicle and discovered approximately two pounds of methamphetamine inside. A phone search warrant revealed messages confirming that Webb had arranged this transaction with the same Mexican supplier.

Jonathan Ovalle Solis has pleaded guilty to drug conspiracy charges and is scheduled for sentencing on February 14, 2025.

The case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
