Former army private sentenced for exploiting minors via social media

E. Martin Estrada, U.S. Attorney | U.S. Attorney's Office for the Central District of California

A former Army private has been sentenced to 22 years in federal prison for crimes related to child sexual exploitation involving minors he met on Snapchat. Parker William White, 24, from Johnsonville, New York, was sentenced by United States District Judge André Birotte Jr. A restitution hearing is scheduled for May 2. Upon release, White will face lifetime supervised release.

White has been in custody since February 2023. After a five-day trial in August 2024, he was found guilty of one count of production of child pornography, three counts of receipt of child pornography, and one count of possession of child pornography.

The investigation began in January 2022 when the Department of Children and Families in Bay County, Florida received a tip about White's online relationship with a 14-year-old girl. Investigators discovered CSAM on White’s iPhone and Snapchat featuring her and another minor.

Court documents revealed that White used social media platforms like Instagram and Snapchat to find minor "girlfriends," some as young as 13. He groomed them by boasting about his military service and expressing affection. In some cases, he pretended to be a teenager to gain their trust before sending sexually explicit content and encouraging reciprocation.

The case was investigated by Homeland Security Investigations, the Department of the Army Criminal Investigation Division, and the Bay County Sheriff’s Office. Assistant United States Attorneys Lyndsi C. Allsop and Laura A. Alexander prosecuted the case.

This prosecution is part of Project Safe Childhood, an initiative launched by the Department of Justice in May 2006 to combat child sexual exploitation and abuse.
