IBM and Lenovo have announced plans to expand their strategic technology partnership in Saudi Arabia, as revealed at the LEAP 2025 event. This collaboration aims to enhance the impact of generative AI for clients within the Kingdom.
The expansion builds on a 20-year relationship between the two companies. They will work together to deliver AI solutions using IBM's watsonx portfolio and Lenovo infrastructure. These solutions are expected to assist government and business clients in improving public services and making data-driven decisions in areas such as fraud detection, public safety, customer service, code modernization, and IT operations.
Giovanni Di Filippo, President of EMEA at Lenovo's Infrastructure Solutions Group, commented on the partnership: “Today’s announcement represents an important step in the longstanding relationship between IBM and Lenovo.” He added that they are pleased to deepen their partnership by combining IBM’s generative AI offerings with Lenovo’s infrastructure solutions for both on-premises and cloud use.
Saudi organizations can currently access ALLaM through watsonx; they can utilize advanced AI capabilities to train, tune, deploy ALLaM, and run their AI workloads on Lenovo infrastructure. The new solutions aim to provide additional methods for clients to leverage Generative AI with transparency, trust, and choice.
Ayman AlRashed from IBM Saudi Arabia expressed enthusiasm about this collaboration: “IBM and Lenovo have a rich history of joint innovation... Together we will drive even greater value for our mutual clients in the Kingdom.”
