Susan T. Lehr, U.S. Attorney | U.S. Attorney for the District of Nebraska
Brandon Salyers, a 31-year-old resident of Columbus, Nebraska, has been sentenced to 78 months in federal prison for his involvement in the distribution of methamphetamine. The sentencing took place on February 6, 2025, in Omaha, Nebraska, with Chief United States District Judge Robert F. Rossiter, Jr. presiding over the case. Following his prison term, Salyers will be subject to three years of supervised release.
The charges against Salyers stem from a series of controlled drug purchases conducted by law enforcement. On October 29, 2023, officers bought 3.5 grams of methamphetamine from him in Nebraska. This was followed by another transaction the next day involving 12 grams of the drug. A subsequent purchase occurred on November 30, 2023, where less than one gram was acquired by law enforcement.
Salyers was arrested on December 28, 2023. At the time of his arrest, authorities found him in possession of 12 grams of methamphetamine along with glass pipes and 39 grams of marijuana.
The investigation leading to Salyers's arrest and conviction was carried out by the Columbus Police Department.
United States Attorney Susan Lehr confirmed the sentence and highlighted that there is no parole in the federal system.
