A Cincinnati man has been sentenced to 27 years in prison for his role in a narcotics and firearms conspiracy. Ryan Haskamp, 36, was sentenced in federal court after pleading guilty to multiple charges, including conspiring to distribute controlled substances and possessing firearms related to drug trafficking crimes.
Haskamp is among 16 individuals convicted in the case. A federal grand jury indicted the defendants in July 2021 for their involvement in a conspiracy that included significant quantities of methamphetamine, cocaine, LSD, and other drugs.
The investigation began following an August 7, 2020 police chase involving Mason Meyer and Kirsten Johnson that led to the deaths of two bystanders in Newport, Kentucky. Both were charged federally later that month. Authorities connected Meyer and Johnson to Haskamp's drug operation during their investigation.
The law enforcement agencies involved seized numerous firearms and large quantities of various drugs as part of the operation. According to court documents, Haskamp utilized several residences as stash houses and had drugs delivered to rental properties for redistribution purposes.
United States Attorney Kenneth L. Parker announced the sentencing alongside officials from the ATF, DEA, Cincinnati Police Department, Northern Kentucky Drug Strike Force, and DART Task Force. U.S. District Judge Jeffery P. Hopkins imposed the sentence on February 6.
