The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) has introduced a new policy concerning the display of flags on its premises. This policy aims to provide uniform and clear guidelines for flag displays across all VA facilities and among employees.
The new directive specifies which flags, aside from the American flag, are permitted to be displayed at VA locations. The full details of the policy can be accessed online.
This initiative by the VA aligns with a longstanding Department of Defense policy that was first implemented during the Trump Administration and continued under the Biden Administration.
VA Secretary Doug Collins stated, "This policy will bring consistency and simplicity to the display of flags throughout the department, which now has a singular focus: serving the needs of Veterans, their families, caregivers and survivors."
