Salvador Madrigal-Sanchez, a 73-year-old from Mexico, has been sentenced to 36 months in prison for unlawful reentry into the United States. This announcement was made by the United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma.
The case against Madrigal-Sanchez stemmed from an investigation conducted by multiple agencies, including the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Immigration and Customs Enforcement Division, the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics, and the Hughes County Sheriff’s Office.
Madrigal-Sanchez entered a guilty plea on May 3, 2024. According to investigators, he was found in the United States on October 3, 2023, after having been deported four times previously.
The sentencing hearing was overseen by Chief U.S. District Judge Ronald A. White at the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma. Madrigal-Sanchez will remain in custody with the U.S. Marshals Service until he is transferred to a designated facility within the United States Bureau of Prisons to serve his non-paroleable sentence.
