Secretary of State Marco Rubio met with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan to discuss enhancing U.S.-Türkiye relations, regional interests, and increasing bilateral trade. According to Spokesperson Tammy Bruce, Secretary Rubio highlighted the importance of cooperation to ensure a stable and unified Syria that poses no threat to the United States, Türkiye, or the region.

The meeting also acknowledged Türkiye's role in the Global Coalition to Defeat ISIS and joint efforts for peace in the South Caucasus. Additionally, both parties share the goal of ending Russia's war on Ukraine.
