Kansas woman indicted for wire fraud involving $260k in unauthorized purchases

A federal grand jury in Kansas City, Kansas, has indicted a woman from Olathe for allegedly misusing her former employer's company debit card to make unauthorized purchases. Kendra Gonzalez, 32, faces one count of wire fraud as per court documents.

While employed as a comptroller, Gonzalez is accused of buying 150 luxury handbags through an online marketplace specializing in secondhand goods using the company's debit card. Additionally, she reportedly used the card for personal expenses such as meals, entertainment, hotel stays, and transferring money to others.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is handling the investigation. Assistant U.S. Attorney Jabari Wamble will prosecute the case.

In related legal proceedings, Hoover Rafael Alberto-Zuniga was indicted on one count of unlawful reentry after deportation. The case is under investigation by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), with Assistant U.S. Attorney Michelle McFarlane prosecuting.

Jose Melecio Bolivar-Chaidez faces charges of unlawful reentry following a felony conviction. This case is also investigated by ICE and prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Jabari Wamble.

Jose Cristobal Rubio-Bardales was indicted for reentering after removal following an aggravated felony conviction. ICE is investigating this matter with prosecution led by Assistant U.S. Attorney David Zabel.

Lastly, Lazarro Tiburcio-Nevarro was charged with unlawful reentry after deportation; ICE investigates this case as well while Assistant U.S. Attorney D. Christopher Oakley prosecutes it.

It is important to note that indictments are merely allegations and all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
