U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Administrator Lee Zeldin has announced the cancellation of several agency media subscriptions, resulting in savings exceeding $1 million for American taxpayers. The EPA currently allocates $1.1 million annually to media contracts.
Under the guidance of President Trump, the EPA conducted a comprehensive review aimed at identifying and cutting unnecessary expenses.
“Every dollar the EPA spends belongs to the American people, and we have a responsibility to ensure it’s used not only appropriately, but wisely. We take seriously our commitment to review every penny that goes out the door,” said Administrator Zeldin. “These are hard-earned taxpayer dollars, and they should not be spent on non-essential subscriptions to subsidize media organizations.”
Earlier this week, Administrator Zeldin announced on XExit EPA’s website that the agency will not renew its memberships with Politico and E&E News. This decision alone will save taxpayers $458,919 each year.
