Facebook is updating its live video storage policy, affecting how long videos remain accessible on the platform. Starting February 19, live broadcast videos will be available for replay, download, or sharing from Facebook Pages or profiles for 30 days before automatic removal. Previously, these videos were stored indefinitely.

This change aims to align with industry standards and improve the live video experience on Facebook. As part of this update, all live videos older than 30 days will be deleted in phases over the coming months. Users will receive notifications before their archival content is removed and have 90 days to download or transfer their old live videos.

Facebook is introducing new tools to facilitate downloading of past live videos. Users can perform single downloads by selecting individual videos from their profile or Page's Videos tab. Bulk downloads are also possible by tapping notifications and choosing a date range.

For those wishing to transfer content, users can move their live videos to linked cloud storage providers like Dropbox or Google Drive. Additionally, Facebook offers an option to convert favorite moments into reels that can be shared on profile pages.

If more time is needed to manage old content, users can defer deletion for an additional six months through provided steps in the notification process.
