Susan T. Lehr, U.S. Attorney | U.S. Attorney for the District of Nebraska
Alexzandra Blanco, a 24-year-old resident of Norfolk, Nebraska, has been convicted by a jury for conspiracy to distribute fentanyl and possession with intent to distribute fentanyl, resulting in serious bodily injury. The trial concluded on February 12, 2025, in federal court in Omaha, Nebraska. United States District Judge Brian C. Buescher presided over the proceedings.
Acting United States Attorney Matthew R. Molsen announced the verdict and stated that Blanco must forfeit $4,200 in U.S. currency and a 2019 Dodge Ram truck as drug proceeds. Blanco faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 20 years and could be sentenced to life imprisonment for the charge involving serious bodily injury. She also faces a mandatory minimum of 10 years for the drug conspiracy charge.
The case traces back to March 17, 2023, when Blanco and her boyfriend, Tremain Monroe, celebrated St. Patrick’s Day at an apartment gathering in Norfolk after bars closed around 2:00 a.m. During this event, Blanco provided fentanyl to an individual who overdosed but was revived with Narcan. Following this incident, law enforcement conducted controlled purchases of M-30 fentanyl pills from Monroe on three occasions in April 2023.
On May 3, 2023, authorities executed a search warrant at the residence shared by Monroe and Blanco. The search resulted in the seizure of 221 fentanyl pills, drug paraphernalia, and over five pounds of methamphetamine.
Monroe pled guilty to similar charges related to fentanyl distribution and received a sentence of 210 months in prison.
Blanco's sentencing is scheduled for May 14, 2025, before Judge Buescher in Omaha.
The investigation was conducted by the Drug Enforcement Administration.
