Vanessa Roberts Avery, U.S. Attorney | U.S. Attorney for the District of Connecticut

Marc H. Silverman, Acting United States Attorney for the District of Connecticut, announced that Andy Marte, also known as "AD," 31, from Bridgeport, has been sentenced to 51 months in prison. U.S. District Judge Victor A. Bolden delivered the sentence in New Haven for Marte's involvement in a drug robbery conspiracy.

Court documents reveal that on April 28, 2023, Marte and accomplices Kareem Porter and Tyrone Allen planned a robbery at a Bridgeport apartment believed to contain drugs and drug proceeds. Marte contacted Jermaine Bethel to assist with the robbery. While Bethel, Porter, and Allen attempted the break-in with a crowbar under Marte's instructions, he stayed in the car with two handguns ready as a getaway driver. The attempt failed when law enforcement confronted them after monitoring Marte’s phone through a court-authorized wiretap linked to alleged drug trafficking activities. Officers seized two handguns and the crowbar from the vehicle.

Marte's criminal record includes multiple firearms offenses and violent robbery convictions. He has been detained since his arrest on April 28, 2023. On March 28, 2024, he pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit Hobbs Act Robbery.

Porter, Allen, and Bethel also pleaded guilty to similar charges. Porter received a sentence of 24 months on October 28, 2024; Bethel was sentenced to 12 months and one day on December 2, 2024; while Allen is still awaiting sentencing.

The investigation was conducted by the FBI’s Bridgeport Safe Streets Task Force alongside the Bridgeport Police Department. Assistant U.S. Attorneys Ross Weingarten and Karen Peck are prosecuting this case.
