Honduran national charged with illegal reentry into the U.S

Roger B. Handberg, U.S. Attorney | U.S. Attorney for the Middle District of Florida

A Honduran national, Junior Alexander Sanabria-Barrera, has been charged with illegal reentry into the United States. Acting United States Attorney Sara C. Sweeney announced the filing of a criminal complaint against the 27-year-old from Honduras.

Court documents reveal that Sanabria-Barrera was deported from the U.S. in April 2023. Despite this, he was found voluntarily present in Sumter County, Florida, on February 14, 2025. He had not obtained consent from either the Attorney General or the Secretary of Homeland Security to apply for readmission to the country.

The complaint serves as a formal charge and does not imply guilt; every defendant is presumed innocent until proven otherwise.

The investigation is being conducted by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO). Assistant United States Attorney Belkis H. Callaos will handle prosecution.
