Coweta resident sentenced to probation for false statement to federal officer

Ashley Bryanne Rockwell, a resident of Coweta, Oklahoma, has been sentenced to three years of probation for making false statements to a federal officer. The United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma confirmed the sentence following an investigation by the United States Marshal Service and the Muskogee County Sheriff’s Office.

Rockwell, aged 40, was found guilty on October 2, 2024, by a federal jury. She was charged with knowingly and willfully providing false information to a Deputy U.S. Marshal regarding a material fact. Investigators revealed that on August 18, 2023, during an active investigation, Rockwell falsely claimed she had not left the state with a registered sex offender who was wanted for failing to comply as a sex offender. Contrary to her statement, Rockwell had traveled with the individual across several states including Colorado and Oregon.

The case hearing was overseen by Chief U.S. District Judge Ronald A. White in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma.

The prosecution team included Assistant U.S. Attorneys Joshua Satter and Dak T. Cohen.
