U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and the FBI have arrested Noareleslam Abdelrahman, a 27-year-old citizen of Egypt and Turkey, during an enforcement operation in Abingdon, Virginia. Abdelrahman was found to be illegally present in the United States.

Patrick Divver, acting Field Office Director for ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations in Washington, D.C., stated, "Noareleslam Abdelrahman was illegally present in Virginia in blatant and knowing violation of U.S. immigration laws." He added that ICE is committed to maintaining safety by arresting and removing individuals who compromise community safety and immigration law integrity.

Abdelrahman was initially apprehended by the U.S. Border Patrol on June 23, 2023, after entering the country illegally near Yuma, Arizona. He was served with a notice to appear before an immigration judge from the Department of Justice.

On August 10, 2023, an immigration judge granted Abdelrahman an $8,000 bond. Following this decision, ICE released him from Eloy Federal Correctional Facility once he posted the bond. However, he violated his bond terms by relocating from New Jersey to Virginia without informing the Executive Office for Immigration Review (EOIR).

After his recent arrest, ICE served Abdelrahman with a notice of custody determination and canceled his bond. He remains in ICE custody.

The public is encouraged to report crimes or suspicious activities by calling 866-DHS-2-ICE (866-347-2423) or using the online tip form.
