U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) recently arrested Francisco Samaniego Leal, a 44-year-old Mexican national, on February 18 in San Diego. The arrest follows his initial detention by the San Diego County Sheriff's Office on March 25, 2003, for possession of a controlled substance and using false citizenship.

Samaniego faced multiple charges over the years, including driving under the influence of alcohol, hit and run, and property damage on August 21, 2003. An immigration judge issued a final order of removal for Samaniego, which ICE executed accordingly.

The public is encouraged to report crimes or suspicious activities by calling 866-DHS-2-ICE (866-347-2423) or submitting information through an online tip form.
