Childcare worker arrested for exploitation; authorities seek public help

ORGANIZATIONS IN THIS STORY

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), in collaboration with the Mount Pleasant Police Department, is requesting public assistance to identify potential victims in a child sexual exploitation investigation. The investigation involves Brandon Brill, who was recently arrested on charges related to child exploitation.

Brill's arrest on February 19 followed an investigation into the extortion of a minor for child sexual abuse material images, known as sextortion. Brill has been working as a private babysitter since at least 2021 and had previous employment at a local daycare in 2022. From 2023 to 2025, he advertised his babysitting services online in the low country area.

Authorities are seeking information that may help identify any potential victims Brill might have engaged with or exploited during his time as a childcare worker. Individuals who suspect their child or any child they know may have been in contact with Brill are urged to contact the tip line.

ICE encourages reports of suspected child predators, sextortion activities involving minors, and other suspicious activities through its toll-free tip line at 866-DHS-2-ICE (866-347-2423) or via its online tip form. Both options are available around the clock. For calls from outside the United States and Canada, dial 802-872-6199, and TTY users can call 802-872-6196. It is important to mention that tips are related to this press release.

ICE Homeland Security Investigations emphasizes a victim-centered approach by focusing on identifying, rescuing, and stabilizing victims of child exploitation. ICE collaborates with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, ICAC partners, and various federal, state, and local agencies to resolve cases and rescue sexually exploited children. Reports of suspected child sexual exploitation or missing children can be made to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children's toll-free hotline at 800-THE-LOST.
