Rocio Basurto Ayala, 35, also from Wichita, is charged with one count of methamphetamine distribution.
In an unrelated case, Shannon Church, 55, from Wichita was indicted on three counts of distributing methamphetamine. These cases are being investigated by the Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office and Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), with Assistant U.S. Attorney Debra Barnett prosecuting.
Additional indictments were issued in separate cases. Wilson Dubon-Melgar, 32, was indicted for unlawful reentry after deportation; Raul Ayon Lizarraga, 24, for being an alien in possession of a firearm; Miguel Lozoya-Serrano, 50, for unlawful reentry after deportation; and Anthony Suazo-Brown, 20, for reentry of a removed alien. U.S. Customs and Immigration Enforcement (ICE) is handling these investigations with prosecutions led by Assistant U.S. Attorneys Trent Krug, Ryan Huschka, Molly Gordon, and Faiza Alhambra respectively.
Dalton Wayne Woods, 32, faces two counts related to the distribution of child pornography. This case is part of Project Safe Childhood and is under investigation by HSI and the Kansas Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force (ICAC). Assistant U.S. Attorney Jason Hart is prosecuting this case.
Project Safe Childhood is a Department of Justice initiative aimed at combating child sexual exploitation and abuse through coordinated efforts across federal and local agencies.
It should be noted that an indictment is merely an allegation; all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
