South Bend man sentenced to over eight years for meth distribution

Clifford D. Johnson, U.S. Attorney | U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Indiana

Jalen Pearson, a 31-year-old resident of South Bend, Indiana, has been sentenced to 97 months in prison. The sentence was handed down by United States District Court Judge Damon R. Leichty following Pearson's guilty plea to distributing five or more grams of methamphetamine. This announcement was made by Acting United States Attorney Tina L. Nommay.

Pearson will also serve four years of supervised release after completing his prison term. Court documents revealed that in June 2023, Pearson distributed approximately three pounds of high-purity methamphetamine for nearly $7,000.

The investigation into this case was conducted by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), including the DEA North Central Laboratory, with assistance from the Indiana State Police and the Mishawaka Police Department. Assistant United States Attorney Katelan McKenzie Doyle prosecuted the case.

This case is part of an Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETF) investigation. OCDETF aims to identify and dismantle high-level drug traffickers and criminal organizations through a collaborative approach involving federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies.
