U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers at the Pharr International Bridge cargo facility intercepted cocaine worth $930,400 hidden in a shipment of cucumbers and jalapeños. This discovery was made on February 22 when CBP officers examined a commercial tractor trailer entering from Mexico.

Port Director Carlos Rodriguez of the Hidalgo/Pharr/Anzalduas Port of Entry stated, "Our CBP officers used all available tools and resources to thwart this smuggling attempt."

The inspection involved nonintrusive equipment and a canine team, leading to the discovery of 28 packages of alleged cocaine weighing 70.28 pounds concealed within the vehicle. Following this, CBP's Office of Field Operations seized both the narcotics and the vehicle. Homeland Security Investigations has launched a criminal investigation into the incident.

CBP is recognized as America's largest law enforcement organization with over 65,000 members dedicated to safeguarding the nation's borders through various means, including innovation and collaboration.
