Farrell resident receives nearly six-year sentence for armed cocaine trafficking

A Farrell, Pennsylvania resident has been sentenced to 70 months in federal prison for crimes related to firearm and drug trafficking. The announcement was made by Acting United States Attorney Troy Rivetti.

Tylon Cousin, aged 39, received the sentence from United States District Judge William S. Stickman IV. Cousin had previously pleaded guilty to charges of possession with intent to distribute cocaine and possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime. Following his prison term, he will also be subject to six years of supervised release.

The court was informed that in early 2023, Cousin was involved in armed cocaine dealing activities at his residence in Farrell. This is not his first conviction; he had served a previous 60-month federal prison sentence due to similar cocaine dealing offenses committed between 2009 and 2011.

Assistant United States Attorney Craig W. Haller handled the prosecution on behalf of the government.

Acting United States Attorney Rivetti expressed gratitude towards the Mercer County Drug Task Force, Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General, Federal Bureau of Investigation, and Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives for their efforts in investigating the case that led to Cousin's prosecution.
