United States District Court Judge William H. Steele has sentenced Sheldon Terrell Peters to 105 months in prison for cocaine trafficking. The sentence includes 75 months for possession with intent to distribute cocaine and an additional 30 months for violating supervised release conditions from a previous federal conviction in 2017 for possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine.
Court documents revealed that the FBI Violent Crimes Task Force, using an undercover informant, conducted three controlled purchases of crack cocaine from Peters at his residence in Mobile between September and October 2022. The transactions involved quantities of 47.5 grams, 46.3 grams, and 105.6 grams of crack cocaine.
The investigation was carried out by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Mobile County Sheriff's Office. Assistant United States Attorney George F. May prosecuted the case.
