Hornell man sentenced to eight years for meth distribution conspiracy

Acting U.S. Attorney Joel Louis Violanti has announced the sentencing of Kenneth Turner, 36, from Hornell, New York. Turner was convicted of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute and to distribute five grams or more of methamphetamine. He received a prison sentence of 96 months.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Charles Moynihan, who managed the case, explained that Turner's arrest occurred in December 2021 after law enforcement intercepted a package sent from Nevada to Turner's Hornell residence containing approximately 111 grams of methamphetamine. During a search of the residence, investigators found additional methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

The sentencing followed an investigation conducted by several agencies: the Drug Enforcement Administration led by Special Agent-in-Charge Frank Tarentino of the New York Field Division; the United States Postal Inspection Service under Special Agent-in-Charge Ketty Larco Ward; and the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office directed by Sheriff Jim Allard.
