U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has taken Javier Duran Torres, a 47-year-old Mexican national, into custody following a series of criminal offenses related to driving under the influence (DUI).
Duran's legal troubles began when he was arrested by the California Highway Patrol on March 9, 2022. He was subsequently convicted in the Superior Court of the State of California, County of San Diego, for DUI with an enhancement for causing great bodily injury to a child on July 9, 2022.
The San Diego Sheriff's Office arrested Duran again on February 21 for another DUI offense. Following this arrest, he is now in ICE custody and awaiting removal proceedings.
