Honduran national sentenced for illegal reentry into the US

The United States Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania has announced the sentencing of Josue Ramon Ayala-Najarro, a 31-year-old citizen of Honduras. On February 28, 2025, United States District Court Judge Julia K. Munley sentenced Ayala-Najarro to four months and nineteen days in prison for illegally reentering the United States after deportation.

Acting United States Attorney John C. Gurganus reported that Ayala-Najarro was found in the country following his arrest for possession of drug paraphernalia in Adams County, Pennsylvania, on March 1, 2024. He had been previously removed from the United States in 2012.

The investigation was carried out by the United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement and Removal Operations. The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Michael Scalera.
