Del Rio Sector Border Patrol agents recently apprehended three individuals near Carrizo Springs, Texas, as they attempted to enter the United States illegally. On February 27, agents were alerted by CBP Air and Marine Operations about three people walking on a local ranch. The agents followed foot signs and found the group, all of whom had carpet attached to their shoes to conceal their tracks.

"Illegal aliens will go to great lengths to try to conceal their entry into the country," stated Del Rio Sector Acting Chief Patrol Agent Milton Moreno. "Our agents are trained in sign cutting methods that regularly foil these attempts."

The individuals were taken to the Carrizo Springs Border Patrol Station for processing. One of them, Refugio Juarez-Argote from Mexico, was discovered to have been deported previously in 2013 and now faces charges under 8 USC § 1326 for reentry after deportation.

The U.S. Border Patrol emphasizes maintaining vigilance along border corridors to prevent illegal smuggling activities. To report suspicious activities, contact 911 or the Del Rio Sector at (830) 778-7000.
