Jesus M. Beltran-Zazusta, also known as Jesus Zazueta-Beltran, has been sentenced to nine years in federal prison for his involvement in a methamphetamine distribution conspiracy. The announcement was made by Acting U.S. Attorney Justin Whatcott.

Court records reveal that law enforcement identified Beltran-Zazusta as a key supplier of methamphetamine to distributors in Teton and Bonneville Counties. In November 2023, authorities tracked him from California back to Idaho, where he was connected to an Idaho Falls residence belonging to co-defendant Ana Costilla-Delgado. Officers seized a pound of methamphetamine from Jorge Hernandez Venegas upon his departure from the house and found nine pounds of the drug in Costilla-Delgado’s bedroom during a search warrant execution.

Beltran-Zazusta was previously linked to Fredy Munoz-Morales of Victor through an investigation in April 2023. He was indicted by a federal grand jury in Pocatello in January 2024 and sentenced by Chief U.S. District Judge David C. Nye on March 3, 2025. After completing his prison term, Beltran-Zazusta is expected to face deportation to Mexico.

Judge Nye also issued sentences for other individuals involved: Costilla-Delgado received twelve and a half years on January 6, 2025; Venegas received nine years on December 2, 2024; and Munoz-Morales received twelve and a half years on June 28, 2024.

Acting U.S. Attorney Whatcott praised the efforts of the Idaho Falls Police Department, the Teton County Sheriff’s Office, and the Drug Enforcement Administration for their roles in bringing about these charges. The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Blythe H. McLane.
