The United States Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania has announced the indictment of Latika Rainey, a 35-year-old resident of Dauphin County, Pennsylvania. The federal grand jury indicted Rainey on February 19, 2025, on charges related to drug trafficking.
Acting United States Attorney John C. Gurganus stated that Rainey is charged with conspiring to distribute and possess with intent to distribute cocaine base, cocaine, and marijuana from February 26, 2023, to March 1, 2023. Additionally, she faces charges for distributing cocaine and possessing with intent to distribute cocaine base, cocaine, and marijuana on March 1, 2023.
This case is part of Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN), an initiative aimed at reducing violent crime and gun violence through collaboration between law enforcement agencies and communities. Launched on May 26, 2021, the Department's strategy under PSN focuses on fostering trust in communities, supporting community-based organizations that prevent violence, setting strategic enforcement priorities, and measuring outcomes.
The investigation was conducted by the Harrisburg Bureau of Police – Organized Crime Vice Control Unit and Street Crimes Unit alongside the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. Assistant U.S. Attorney K. Wesley (Wes) Mishoe is handling the prosecution.
Federal law stipulates maximum penalties for these offenses as up to 100 years imprisonment, supervised release following imprisonment, fines, and a special assessment. Sentencing will be determined by a judge based on federal statutes and guidelines after any finding of guilt.
It is important to note that indictments are merely allegations. All individuals charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
