U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers at the Anzalduas International Bridge in Texas have seized cocaine valued at over $346,000. The seizure took place during a routine inspection on Saturday, March 1, when a CBP officer directed a 2015 Chevy Traverse for further examination.

Port Director Carlos Rodriguez of the Hidalgo/Pharr/Anzalduas Port of Entry stated, "Our frontline CBP officers continue to remain agile and focused on CBP border security mission and that attention to detail contributed to this significant cocaine seizure." He emphasized the importance of such actions in maintaining safety within border communities.

During the secondary inspection, which included nonintrusive technology and canine assistance, officers found 10 packages containing approximately 25.92 pounds of suspected cocaine inside the vehicle. The estimated street value of these narcotics is $346,167.

Following the discovery, CBP confiscated both the drugs and the vehicle involved. Homeland Security Investigations special agents have commenced a criminal investigation into the matter.
