ICE detains Bulgarian man with felony conviction

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has apprehended Simeon Roosenov Moutafov, a Bulgarian national, who was subject to a final order of removal. The arrest took place on February 24 in Cincinnati.

Moutafov's criminal record includes convictions for aggravated battery with a firearm and aggravated fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer in Madison County, Illinois.

“Moutafov is an aggravated felon with no legal status in United States and will be headed back to his home country,” stated Robert Lynch, ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations Detroit Field Office Director. He further commended the officers' work by saying, “I’m proud of our officers’ efforts to ensure safer communities by removing public safety and national security threats.”
