Huntington man receives four-year sentence for meth distribution

Clarence Montana Walls, a 39-year-old resident of Huntington, has been sentenced to four years in prison for distributing methamphetamine. Following his prison term, Walls will be subject to three years of supervised release.

Court documents reveal that Walls engaged in the sale of methamphetamine at a residence in Richwood on five separate occasions between October 11 and October 26, 2023. Each transaction involved a confidential informant. Additionally, Walls sold fentanyl to an informant in Clay County on May 9, 2023. He pleaded guilty to the methamphetamine sale that occurred on October 11, 2023.

On October 31, 2023, law enforcement executed a search warrant at the Richwood residence where Walls resided. They seized $650 from controlled drug buys and an additional $3,625 along with a small quantity of controlled substances.

Walls' criminal history includes convictions for second-degree criminal sexual conduct, domestic violence, providing false information to officers, and multiple offenses related to controlled substances. The court determined that Walls attempted to obstruct justice by making recorded jail phone calls aimed at influencing grand jury testimony against him.

Acting United States Attorney Lisa G. Johnston announced the sentence and praised the Central Regional Drug and Violent Crime Task Force for their investigative efforts.

United States District Judge Thomas E. Johnston imposed the sentence while Assistant United States Attorneys Andrew D. Isabell and Alexander A. Redmon prosecuted the case.
