Mineola man receives over 17 years for meth distribution

A Mineola resident, Bobby Wayne Land, has been sentenced to 210 months in federal prison for drug trafficking offenses in the Eastern District of Texas. The announcement was made by Acting U.S. Attorney Abe McGlothin, Jr.

Land, aged 48, pleaded guilty to possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine. U.S. District Judge Jeremy Kernodle delivered the sentence on March 7, 2025.

Court records reveal that law enforcement officers searched Land's home in Van Zandt County on February 28, 2023. They discovered approximately 205 grams of methamphetamine during the search. Land admitted ownership of the drugs and his intention to distribute them.

Co-defendant Preston Mitchell Wilson received a sentence of 120 months in federal prison on January 17, 2025. Another individual involved, Danny Lynn Nabors, was sentenced to 96 months on the same day.

The investigation was conducted by multiple agencies including the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives; Grand Saline Police Department; Canton Police Department; and Van Zandt County Sheriff’s Office. Assistant U.S. Attorney Alan Jackson prosecuted the case.
