Cheektowaga man sentenced for possession of child pornography

U.S. Attorney Michael DiGiacomo has announced the sentencing of Christopher Rucker, a 45-year-old resident of Cheektowaga, NY. Rucker was convicted for possession of child pornography with a prior sex offense and has been sentenced to 188 months in prison followed by lifetime supervised release. The sentence was handed down by U.S. District Judge John L. Sinatra, Jr.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Caitlin M. Higgins, who managed the case, reported that the New York State Police executed a search warrant at Rucker's home in March 2022. During this search, they confiscated a laptop and cell phone that contained images and videos of child pornography. Investigations revealed that between October 1 and December 28, 2021, Rucker had downloaded approximately 1300 images of child pornography. These included depictions of prepubescent minors as well as violent acts against children and sexual abuse involving an infant or toddler.

Rucker is identified as a Level 2 registered sex offender due to two convictions in 2002 for Sodomy in the 2nd Degree and Using an Interstate Facility to Persuade/Induce a Child to Engage in Sexual Activity.
