U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has removed Jose Ramon Torres Cordova, a 47-year-old fugitive from Mexico wanted for kidnapping and criminal association. The removal took place on March 7, when ICE transported Torres from the Eloy Detention Center in Arizona to the Dennis DeConcini Port of Entry in Nogales. There, he was handed over to Mexican authorities.

John Cantu, Director of ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations Phoenix Field Office, stated: "The return of this fugitive to Mexico is a prime example of how ICE works closely with our international law enforcement partners to identify, locate and remove criminal aliens who are wanted in their country." He added that "ICE prioritizes the arrest and removal of criminal alien fugitives. As a result, Torres will finally face justice."

Torres had previously entered the United States illegally at an unspecified location and time before being removed in April 2019. Later that month, he was apprehended by U.S. Border Patrol while attempting to re-enter the country and was subsequently removed again in May 2019. During his illegal stay in the U.S., Torres faced arrests for disorderly conduct and assault.

ICE encourages individuals with information about foreign fugitives or other criminal aliens unlawfully present in the U.S. to contact them via the ICE Tip Line at 1 (866) 347-2423 or internationally at 001-1802-872-6199. Tips can also be submitted online through ICE’s website.
