This weekend, Troy Edgar was officially sworn in as the Deputy Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) by Secretary Kristi Noem. The ceremony took place at DHS Headquarters in Washington, D.C., following Edgar's confirmation by the Senate on March 7th.
Deputy Secretary Edgar expressed his enthusiasm for returning to the department. "It is an honor to return to the Department," he stated. "I look forward to working alongside Secretary Noem and the dedicated men and women of DHS in our critical mission to keep Americans safe."
Edgar has a history with the DHS, having served during President Trump's first term as Chief Financial Officer and Associate Deputy Under Secretary for Management. In that capacity, he managed financial policy, modernization efforts, and oversaw a $90 billion budget, which included funding for immigration policies and border wall construction.
